Washbrooks Farm

With many attractions now able to re-open their doors, we could not wait to get back out there to re-visit them. First on our list was Washbrooks Farm. This farm is bursting with attractions for the kids to enjoy!

LOCATION - It is located in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex, BN6 9EF.

THINGS TO DO - Washbrooks farm is full of fun things to do. Although the indoor play area is closed due to covid regulations, this really did not affect our visit at all. Here are a few of the outdoor attractions we explored:

· The ‘pedal area’ has a great choice of ride on tractors, scooters and karts for children to whizz around on.

· The jumping pillows are so much fun (even the husband couldn’t resist a quick bounce)! They have two – one for toddlers and one for big kids which is perfect!

· The huge sandpit is full of buckets and spades to create your own sandcastles!

· A fire engine for the kids to climb aboard and pretend to drive.

· The adventure playground is vast, with a zip line and various types of swings from single to multi person ones. As well as lots of slides, a carriage to climb on, tractors to climb through and a pirate ship to board via a wobbly bridge or rope ladders. Plus, they have an assault course which features balance beams too.

ANIMALS - There is a barn for you to meet some of the farmyard residents. This includes ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, horses, goats, donkeys, sheep, and pigs. At the moment, they even have beautiful baby goats (kids) and lambs for you to see!

Outside in the paddock, you can wander around to watch the sheep and cows grazing, as well as admire the llamas, alpacas, and Shetland ponies too.

FOOD/DRINK - The cafe is open for takeaway, but you are also more then welcome to take your own picnic too. The cafe is serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and lunch items too.

ADMISSION - You do not need to prebook, simply turn up on the day. Beware that weekends/half terms it can get full, so a one in/one out system will then be in operation. Children of all ages will really enjoy their day at this farm. And at just £26 for a group of 4, we think it is really good value for money too! Individual prices are £7.50 adults, £6.50 children aged 3-15 and under 3s are free. Parking is free and there was lots of spaces when we visited.

EXTRA INFO - The toilets are open and within the playground grounds. The tractor rides around the paddock are not in operation at the moment, just keep an eye on their site to see if/when these return. This is also a great venue for birthday parties as and when they are allowed to hold them again! Plus there can be events held in half terms. We visited the Christmas trail in 2020 and it was lovely. The farm is usually open all year round 930am - 5pm though check direct when you decide to visit.

ACCESSIBILITY/DISABLED GUESTS - Disabled visitors pay the full ticket price but can bring with them one carer who will be eligible for free entry. Evidence of DLA/PIP must be provided to qualify and must be dated in the last 2 years and must be shown to staff at entrance. If evidence is not brought or not in date the full ticket price will be charged. Carers must be 16 or over.

For wheelchair users, the majority of the farm is accessible with stone paths (with the exception of the far field walk), wide entrances to all buildings and fully equipped disabled toilet.

KID QUOTES

Bethany's favorite part ''I really liked the ride on go-kart and also the zip line was fun''

Katie's favorite part ''I loved the baby animals .. can we get a rabbit please?''

(Ermmmm no, you can see them in the farm haha)

So after reading this, we hope you plan to have a day out at Washbrooks Farm soon!
